Get permanent residency with Eb5 visas

Eb5 visas have proved to be the most successful visas to create permanent residencies in the U.S. The main factor which holds back most regular visa applicants is the lack of overseas family ties or opportunity to set up a business in the U.S. However, the eb5 visas involve no such hassles.

Although annually just 10,000 applicants are approved for the program, but the local U.S. firms benefit quite a lot from the program. The reason is because the visa applicants are required to invest a million dollars in total for those firms. This is a win-win situation for both the firm as well as the immigrant.

If a million dollars is a lot for an individual, he can also opt to invest half a million dollars in Targeted Employment Areas recognized by the U.S. government. In either case, you must make sure that the money you invest is successful in creating or securing jobs for ten U.S. citizens, else your visa is liable to get cancelled. In return for your money, you will be granted a green card. If you are able to hold the green card for five years, you could go ahead and apply for citizenship. Even during that period of time, you will be able to get a job or attend a school or college, just like any other U.S. citizen.

The only limitation is that the applicant must be less than 21 years in age. Foreign nationals interested in getting an eb5 visa must think quickly, since it is quite unsure whether the program laws will be re-accepted in September 2012 by the U.S. government.
